Subject: the last Kurosawa/Mifune collaboration
A lovely film. Perhaps my favorite of Mifune's. This should be required viewing for new medicine residents. Toshiro, bitched and moaned throughout filming. He had begun his own production company and was missing out on 'real money', being unable to work on another film simultaneously due to the beard, which he hated. Full credit goes to Kurosawa, again.
